Torill Kove is a filmmaker, animator, and illustrator, celebrated for her expressive and poignant storytelling. Born in Norway, she has lived in Montreal since 1982, and three of her animated shorts have been nominated for Academy Awards, with The Danish Poet winning the Oscar in 2007. Torill made her directorial debut with My Grandmother Ironed the King’s Shirts, and has since created Me and My Moulton, Threads and Maybe Elephants, each blending autobiographical insight, humor, and tender reflections on family, memory, and childhood. Torill directed the animated feature Hocus Pokus Alfie Atkins and has illustrated numerous children’s books, bringing her imagination and gentle charm to audiences across generations.
