Carlos Aguilar is a writer, film critic, and journalist, originally from Mexico City, known for his astute insight and passionate advocacy for representation in cinema. He was selected as one of six young critics for the inaugural Roger Ebert Fellowship, organized by RogerEbert.com, the Sundance Institute, and IndieWire in 2014, and his work has appeared in The Los Angeles Times, The Wrap, Vulture, IndieWire, RogerEbert.com, Filmmaker Magazine, and Slate, among others. A member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) and the National Society of Film Critics (NSFC), Carlos co-hosts One Week Only, a weekly podcast spotlighting independent and international cinema.
