Animation by Women

When Animation Is Film was founded, one of its missions was to champion and support women filmmakers. This year, Animation Is Film Festival is enormously proud to feature major premieres and in-person Q&As with some of the most exciting talent in animation. In its fifth edition, two-thirds of the Competition films were directed or co-directed by women, and the Special Events lineup features an historic number of animated studio releases (3!), directed solely by women.
